Common questions

Is this a live, complete Full Bogon feed?

No. Unallocated space changes. This tool does not continuously synchronize all allocations and BGP state or replace a dynamic route-filtering feed.

Should I block a private address?

It depends on where it appears. Private addressing is normal internally; public-edge filtering depends on your topology and security policy.

Does no match guarantee a public address?

No. This checks built-in special-purpose rules, not live allocations or BGP routes. It does not test connectivity or reputation.

Is 100.64.0.0/10 ordinary private space?

It is shared address space defined by RFC 6598, commonly used for carrier-grade NAT. It is a different category from RFC 1918 private space.

Where do 127.0.0.1 and ::1 point?

Both are loopback addresses referring to the device using them, not a remote host directly reachable over the public internet.

Which rule is shown if several match?

The most specific matching prefix and its reference are shown. Interpret its purpose by category instead of treating every special-use address as an attack source.
